Vacancy: Junior Litigation and Insolvency Solicitor
BBM Solicitors are a commercial and litigation boutique with offices in Edinburgh and the Highlands and Islands (Wick).
BBM are listed as a “leading firm” in Commercial Litigation and Insolvency & Corporate Recovery by the Legal 500 Directory. We are also listed in the guide to Restructuring and Insolvency solicitors published by Chambers and Partners.
We act for clients across a wide variety of sectors but are particularly known for our expertise in insolvency law. Aside from Insolvency Practitioners (who make up a large part of our client base) our “typical” clients tend to be owner managed SME’s. However, we do act for a few larger and listed companies too as well as a significant number of non-Scottish Law Firms.
Due to the increasing workload of our Litigation and Insolvency team, we are now seeking to appoint an able and ambitious junior litigation and insolvency solicitor to join the team based in our Edinburgh Office.
Our Edinburgh Litigation and Insolvency team currently consists of a partner, associate and assistant solicitor. The ideal candidate will be marked by integrity, clear advocacy skills, strong training in commercial litigation and a genuine interest in developing business. Experience in Court of Session litigation, insolvency law and acting for insolvency practitioners will be a distinct advantage. The role will be most suitable for a solicitor at the level of NQ to 1 year PQE.
If moving from a larger practice, candidates should be able to clearly articulate how they would cope with the transition into a boutique firm.
Informal enquiries can be made to Eric Baijal, Partner and Head of Litigation and Insolvency: email: emb [AT] bbmsolicitors [DOT] co [DOT] uk or telephone 01955 604188. Approaches will be treated in the strictest confidence. Applications should be made by CV and covering email to Eric Baijal at the email address above.
No applications from Employment Agencies will be accepted.
Competitive remuneration package (partly based on performance) available.
Closing date for applications is 12 noon on Monday 2nd June 2014.
