Delighted to be back at Zimbali to speak at the SARIPA Annual Conference
As per my recent LinkedIn post, I was delighted to be back at Zimbali to speak at the SARIPA Annual Conference. Perhaps it is particularly because of the Rugby (!) but I am always struck by the up-beat positive, atmosphere among South African colleagues (notwithstanding the difficulties the country faces) and today was no different!
It’s not perfect but the new(ish) South African business restructuring regime combining the best bits of Chaper 11 and Administration/CVA really is worth a look! Some very skilled Business Rescue Practitioners with interesting cases (particularly around government connected cases and construction) on show once again.
This morning I was part of a panel moderated by the excellent Keith Coats on the Future of the Restructuring Profession. Many challenging take aways that are relevant to insolvency and restructuring in the UK including the need to add value in the process.
Particularly looking forward to hearing the SA take on ‘Post Commencement Financing’, and my friends Colin Strime panel on Current Hot Topics In Insolvency, and Dawie Van Der Merwe panel on ADR in Business Rescue.
