Joanna W H Morris

Joanna is a practical, focused and approachable lawyer with a range of experience in various areas of Family law, agricultural, general civil, property, regulatory crime and commercial law.

Joanna has a well established client base and key member of the team having been with the firm for more than a decade. As a Legal Director and head of the Family Law team across the firm, she regularly advises clients on a range of contentious issues usually concerning Family Law and agricultural/ succession disputes.

Joanna’s main area of experience and expertise is dispute resolution in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session. Joanna appears regularly in various Sheriff Courts all over Scotland and instructs Counsel in more complex matters and in Court of Session cases. Joanna also has a keen interest on alternate dispute resolution including mediation. Internally, Joanna runs her own case load, manages her own team and is involved in the firm’s business development.

Joanna is comfortable with dealing with highly complex situations and is always keen to resolve matters in the most cost effective and time efficient way for the benefit of her clients.

Joanna is well known for her approachable, adaptable, pragmatic and down-to-earth manner which has proven key to her success.

Outside of work: Joanna farms a mixed livestock and cereal enterprise with her husband.
